MinePath regional guide

Bowen Basin mining jobs: the biggest coal job market in Queensland.

Moranbah, Dysart, Blackwater and the surrounding Bowen Basin remain one of Australia’s most concentrated markets for production, maintenance and contractor coal jobs.

The advantage is volume. The trap is assuming every mine uses the same roster, employer model or entry pathway.

How to attack the market

Search by town and employer, not only “mining jobs”.

A Bowen Basin campaign works best when you search mine names, nearby towns and contractors separately. Many vacancies are advertised under the employer or contractor name with little reference to the basin.

Employers to check

  • BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA)
  • Whitehaven Coal
  • Glencore
  • Peabody
  • Stanmore Resources
  • Major maintenance, production and labour-hire contractors

Search phrases

  • Moranbah operator jobs
  • Dysart mining jobs
